WHO AM I

I am Jerry Hsu, a fourth-year PhD candidate graduating in spring 2025. My research area covers soft-body simulations, from practical applications to artist pipeline integration and the simulations themselves. Recently, my work integrated physics simulations into the interpolation of guide hair simulations at SIGGRAPH 2024. At SIGGRAPH 2022, my work utilized a novel two-stage inverse rest shape solver to combat sagging, with various applications in MPM and FEM simulations. In SIGGRAPH 2023, I extended this work into Cosserat rod models for complex hair simulations. Additionally, I continue my ongoing work in collision handling and stable solvers for robust large-scale yarn simulations.

I am interested in computer graphics and computer simulations.

I also like cats. Cats and computer graphics. And snow … jumping off cliffs into snow.
